Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram to keep up with all of the news and highlights about the market. \nThe market is a fundraiser that is near and dear to our hearts (see the mission below).\nOur gate price is $5 for adults  – 15 years or older.\nBut we hope you will bring the whole family for a day of fun! \nSaturday\, May 8th from 9:00-3:00\nThe Water Tower in Gridley\, Illinois \n  \nMarket with a mission.\nOur market is a fundraiser for a cause that is deeply personal for women: FGM – female genital mutilation.  It is a cultural tradition among many rural tribes of Kenya and many other parts of the world that dates back hundreds of years. It is deeply entrenched in culture as a requirement or rite of passage for girls. (We invite you to do more research on your own of what FGM entails.). \nFGM is a cultural practice\, rooted in inequality and discrimination against women and girls in a misguided attempt to curb sexuality and increase marriageability due to a subsequent “purity.”  It is often a precursor to marriage (child-brides)\, and once married off\, their education ends. The unfortunate outcome physically is a lifetime of health risks\, pregnancy complications\, anemia\, and more. Spiritually\, their needs are much greater. \nFor just $96 per year\, or $8 per month we can support a precious child in an FGM rescue center. These funds provide them with food for a year\, reusable sanitary supplies for a year\, a gospel booklet\, soap\, and other hygiene products.  We hope to sponsor up to 1\,000 girls! \nAll proceeds of the market go to this mission.
