Achieve a timeless and elegant finish on your wood projects with Linwax Wood Paste. This historical wood polish not only provides a beautiful sheen but also effectively seals pores and fills in slight imperfections, ensuring a flawless result every time.
Not for use on cutting boards, charcuterie boards, spoons, bowls, or any other surface that will come into contact with food.
To use on bare wood: Power sand wood to a smooth finish with 240 grit sandpaper and hand sand to 320 grit. Remove dust with a tack cloth or mineral spirits. If desired, boiled linseed oil or stain can be applied to the surface and allowed to penetrate the wood grain about 15 minutes, keeping the surface wet. After 15 minutes, remove the excess with paper towel or a lint free rag (an old t-shirt works great). Apply Linwax Wood Paste with a fine grade steel wool pad (#0000) in a circular motion to fill pores across the grain as well as with the grain. Allow to dry, anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour depending on temperature, humidity, pore size of the grain, and thickness of finish wax paste. Once dry it will look cloudy. Buff with a lint free cloth for a beautiful low luster sheen. Apply a second coat if desired. This finish can be renewed without stripping or sanding whenever a refresh is needed.
To refresh an old finish: Clean the surface with mineral spirits and allow to dry, removing dirt and dust. Using a circular motion with a lint free rag, work Linwax Wood Paste over surface to be refreshed. Immediately buff to a satin sheen with a clean cloth as the wax won’t be able to penetrate the already sealed pores. Reapply as necessary.
